DDD: Smooth-On Featherlite polyurethane resin, epoxy putty, spray primer, Tamiya X Series paints, Gloss UVLS acrylic-aliphatic polyurethane (clear coat), silver jeweller’s wire, nickel plated 300mm chain, rubber bath plug. Tray: Vacuum formed mid-blue HIPS (High impact polystyrene). Box: Hand cut and folded clear 0.5mm PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol), vinyl stickers, white oil based marker pen.
My Year 8 school Art report reads:
“Christopher has shown much potential for this subject and has many creative ideas. He must however make sure he carries his ideas through to the finished product.”
So here’s Maurizio Cattelan’s Daddy Daddy, reimagined with a change of scale, and ready for bath time. A knockout miniature knock-off; made over the course of eighteen excruciating months. He’s waterproof, made from a buoyant polyurethane resin and comes boxed, floating in a vacuum formed mid-blue tray.
